cannot seem to get on any of the chat boxes let alone the "xat.com" web address.

I get the "Connection Problem. You could try to start the chat again, Sorry.

and a simple "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.xat.com."

I am running Windows XP with SP2 and the latest edition of Mozilla Firefox. This started happening about 5 days ago

__________________________________________________ ______________

1) Why would that be? Other then ascended's chatbox, I've never even visited Xat.com. Only think I can think of is I got messages from random people and asked them to leave me alone because I did not know who they were and one of them said "I can ban you, you know"

2) I can visit any other site except Xat.com

3) I use Spybot - Serch & destroy

4) I have DSL, and xat.com works on the other computers behind my router. I can connect to "http://web.xat.com/" however.

5) As in computer hardware? I'm not running the greatest system ever, but I don't think it's that. But, I'll post what I have:
Pentium 4 1.80 GHz
1024 Mb of ram
Nvidia FX5200 LE

Please Help what is the problem with my chatbox

I occasionally experience the same problem with firefox on a wireless connection.

If your browser is slowing down, and failing to load some of the flash elements of Xat, it could be a problem cause either by the speed of your network, or firefox itself. Either close firefox and restart it, and if you still have a problem wait until the signal strength increases.

As far as not being able to connect to xat or gain access to the internet, regardless of the fact that you are connected to the internet, take these steps:

1. close out of any applications that utilize access to the internet.
2. right click the internet connection icon on the taskbar. (the icon showing two computer monitors and/or a small globe)
3. open network and sharing center.
4. choose the option 'manage network connections'
5.click on whicever type of network device you are currently using (LAN or Wireless)
5. choose the option 'disable network device'
6. re-enable network device.

If the problem persists, restart your computer. If the problem STILL persists. Contact the customer service provider of whoever manufactured your machine.

I use both. Internet Explorer will have the same problem.
