Firefox Loading Problem

This problem only occurs sometimes and I can't figure out why. When loading up any chatbox in Firefox, every once in a while, I can't get the box to load. It doesn't show the little Smiley that loads the screen. It just says "Connection Problem. You could try to load the chat again. Sorry. (T)" what exactly does this mean and is there anything I can manually do to fix it. I also know this is only a Firefox problem because I can go into Internet Explorer at the same time and the same boxes work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

have you tried waiting for a while,repairing your connection or turning off some of the add-ons?and the problem is in IE with people with low IC's
