Transcripts for chat, PMs and PCs

Sorry if this has ever been requested.

Last night, something happened on my chat, and my mods and owners tried to send me a transcript, however I only received the last 5 messages, which had nothing on them.

I was wondering if there would be some options available for us to get Transcripts to Chat and PCs. The MAIN owner only could view them.

Currently transcripts are not avalible, unless somebody sends in an Unfair Ban report, but that only shows about 10 messages sent in the public chat.

This is very important, and I would like to see become available. If there's anyway I can help implement it, let me know. I know a coder I could get help with this from.

Would it be possible to make a button where you could press it, get the message that says press Ctrl + v and when you put it down, you'd get a transcript? Just an idea.

Yeah I think the main owner SHOULD have access to the chat transcripts or maybe a feature you can even pay for it if would cause problems. It is VERY helpful to see who did what espically in pc.

I think the MAIN owners should have access to MAIN chat transcripts. But whats said in PC-xat should only have access too. A lot of chatters may get upset. Because if whats said in PC-because it IS private chat-is available to a owner, and then they might leave chat. Also- a PC could be going on from 2 different chat boxes? Which owner would have access? A Xat should only have access to them-in case of online predators and what not. A PRIVATE chat and a PRIVATE message should stay that way. But also-if something is going on again in your chat. Have the mods screen shoot it.

I also like the idea of seeing whats been going on by using transcripts but i would only say it should only be allowed to the MAIN OWNER who has the PASS.

Although i am against the idea of transcripts being seen on peoples Private chats.

How about only access to pc's IF at least ONE of the users give permisson to view it OR only show the pc's of a recent ban even if it is not reported.

I doubt anyone will allow someone to see their private chats.

Whether or not we get PC transcripts I think we need transcripts for the main chat.

I appointed a couple people to be owners who showed themselves to be as trust worthy as you can get online but now one of my owners are making other people mods who aren't trustworthy, I have no way to know who it is. I keep letting all of them know not to do it, but someone keeps doing it.

Things like that can happen when we don't have transcripts. There is no way to know what really happens when you are not around.

To save on space the transcripts can just record when they Mods or Owners make a moderated action, like kicking or banning or making someone else a Mod. It can just record 30 posts before and after the action happened.

Why not?

If it costs money they can ask for a flat fee for the extra server usage. I'd pay $2 a month for transcript access. With the amount of users xat has those $2 will add up eventually and Xat may end up getting paid extra money with their website.

I disagree. What if someone was insulting them through Private chat/message and they wanted to show it to the main owner? There are already a lot of screenshots of Private chats going on, a transcript would be a lot more conveint.

Hm.. I agree. Right now I'm leaving my computer on all night, and recording my chat with a hypercam... Which isn't nearly as easy to do, or check through. It seems like there are a few people out there who want transcripts as much as I do, and are even willing to pay for it.

Seems fair enough. Some people say their was insulting/advertising going on in Private Chat, and without some way of knowing it could result in a lot of people being banned unfairly... Or, there could be a lot of mass advertisements, and inappropriate stuff that goes on in Private Chat, that there is no way to moderate.

And really... If even one of the participants of the Private Chats wants it to be revealed they could take a screenshot of it.. So you shouldn't really be giving out personal or private information to random people on a chat anyway.

I'd rather let the Main Owner have access to my Private Chats (I mean it is HIS chat.. Shouldn't he/she have full control over what goes on it in?) than having no way to insulting/advertising and other bad things.. Other than with screenshots that can be forged....

Maybe if that happened it should say: Help: "WARNING: This conversation may be seen by the main owner! Don't give out personal information!" at the top of every Private Chat... If the person running the chat is abusive enough to frivolously read your Private chats that might be a chat you shouldn't be on anyway.
