why am i not owner?

I put the code in my headers of my forum but it doesn't show me as owner. i put my id # in the code but it still doesn't show me as owner. Was I suppose to do that?
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong.
I am registered and it shows up when I chat in it, but I see no options as an owner or mod.

Well here's a tip, just go to the top of your chat and click edit chat, then type in your chat pass, and then click change box settings. Ta-daa

But I don't have an edit button because when I got my code and pasted it in the forum, I am not recognized as the owner. What step did I not do to be shown as the owner?
