I created it and the folder looks just like the picture in your help file but when I try to play it(on my pc's dvd player) I get this error: "the selected vcd cannot be played as a vcd because it does not conform to the vcd specifications" I dont get it-I have a new computer running XPSP2...
Cheers

Have you tried it on a real DVD player? PCs often can't play slideshow VCDs. Chris.

No Chris I dont have a DVD player yet that supports cdrom......but why would it not play on a newer computer? The error was about the vcd not my drive??

xatshow makes a special type of VCD which is a slideshow and not a movie. It seems the PC DVD player can play VCD movies but not slideshows. I guess they thought it wasn't worth doing slideshows.

It is part of the VCD spec so their implementation is incomplete.

Well, I'm afraid there's no guarantee here either. Probably about 80% will. If you're going to buy one try and see if they'll let you try it.

You can also find lists here that will tell you if they play VCD slideshows:
