New Power request: Limited quantity Powers

It's not so much a POWER request, if not another way that they can be offered.

I'm not sure what happened with CLEAR, but clearly it's become a very hot commodity; everyone wants it and those few that were able to get aren't selling.

So along those lines, how about offering exclusive LIMITED QUANTITY powers?

Example: Let's take CLEAR and pretend it was never offered. XAT offers only 1000 units of clear. They can be bought by 1 individual or, and this is important, WHOEVER HAPPENS TO BE ONLINE WHEN IT'S OFFERED.

What it would do: 1. It would keep users glued to the Powers page and to XAT, so that they don't miss out on the new power. 2. Like STOCK, XAT could create a sort of supply and demand within the Powers Market. Limited supply would allow those users with that particular power to trade it at a greater price; just like stock.

The idea of a Power, and why they're so popular, is that users want to be or have what others don't have. Limited quantity powers seem like an interesting solution to that problem while adding more juice to the already popular Trading platforms.

Note: the idea ISN'T to make ALL powers limited quantity.... The idea is to release one into the mix, only occasionally.

Well, xat is filled with different people, this means different time zones. While one power may be available (for a short time) in a peak time in the UK, for example, may be a horrible time for the U.S. I know people wouldn't want to miss out when they absolutely can't. There are also people that don't spend all their time on xat, for example school.

Though I wouldn't like many powers limited, it does add an interesting mix. Maybe allow only certain chats, like trade, have certain powers thus forcing the trade system to be used.

i dont like this idea for the fact i missed out on clear power that i was off for the weekend and i got back and i couldnt get that power becouse noone is willing t trade it to me :( so maybe it should be limited for a number of days rather then amount out there

Well i like the idea, better than the time limit of buying powers that is. For instance if a power had only 500 of its kind in stock on its release date, then there wouldn't be one person who would buy half of them. Plus, this would probably give people more of an opportunity to buy the power rather than putting it up for only 5 days.
