Reward scheme

The reward pin.
Basically this would be like a rank system when a person achieves a certain amount of threads, posts etc they get a pin. when /if they get the maxium pins the get a reward say xat days or xats

--polls could be the xat poll icon..

--general forums would have to be the xat globe and rocket.. like (allpowers)

--Music forums.. before this can be put in we would need a change of catogreys..

--quizzes can be the xat quiz ? icon

Great Idea Lizzie, however, a better way would be if you had to be recommended like if you helped someone out on that section, a moderator, or a system can track down how much people you have helped so it wouldn't be as easy to get the pins, and it would be more rewarding.

I love this idea, it could be hard to keep track of because all ranks must be given by admins on vbulletin. (unless they use automatic promotions)

If they can figure out a way around this I would love to see it implemented.

That's another good forum suggestion Liz, and I support the idea fully because this would change up the look of the community forum and might bring more people onto here and the people already on here-- keep them on longer. But I did have some questions about it (Like usual Lol), in which I'll post below.

?1 - Where will the pins be placed after receiving them? On the users profile? Right under their name everytime they post? As a new selection menu after clicking on someones name while in a thread?

?2 - How will this system work? Will a moderator or an administrator have to come on and implement them for a user after the user has completed the necessary requirements or will there be a VB script implemented that will automatically do the process?

3 - How many posts will be required for each pin? And how many pins will there be? And what if the post or thread they made was deleted or a certain amount of posts were deleted and they fell below the requirements for them receiving the pin in the first place-- would they lose their pin?

I would like to see the pins next to your name That would look pretty cool and people could see from your name how active you are Aso show like your ranking and make you feel proud of your achievements(hehe)

like steven said in his post as admin are tied up 90% time it should be a automatic thing like the do for the chatter/chatterholic process atm

This id like to discuss im not sure what would be a fair amount of posts as we dont want people just spamming they need to be informative threads with good content.
If a post is deleted is generally for good reason i.e flaming someone or breaking a forum rule so again this would be up for discussion.

;) Maybe we should get some of the smiley makers to come on here and design the pins:p

Most forums have some sort of ranking system. The Xat forum one seems a bit vague and inconspicuous.
The one I run, and one I am in, has a star ranking system. Per 100 posts, you get a star. When you get 10 stars, your rank changes. There are 4 ranks before special ranks start.
Xat can adopt a similar system, but use its own pips and nonesuch. They are placed ABOVE the avatar, but below the name.

Then, as mentioned in the thread below mine by Lizzie, that there should be awards for meeting goals as well. Such as 1000 posts in Help thread or something, then get the ability to choose another "Title"

For example. 500 posts in a help thread will get you the "Xat Forum Senior Help Member" pin, and it should be put below the avatar with said symbols.

Eh the pin system isnt really that great..they have a post count system already made into vbulletin so like when you reach a certain post and you get promoted to a new user rank / new team icon

Yes we have a system at present but we all want change and the pin system can be incorporated to making the forums more colourful and also show people who is active and actually cares about these forums.it also gives people a positive as opposed to negative effect

But still.. thats kind of pointless the forum doesnt need to be more colorful for girls.. The forum design is just fine because it intregrates into xat.com color really well. The best they can do is just get "pips" added to their name.

if you took the time time to read the whole thread you will realize this is what the people want!
when you look on forums first impressions count.
As for pips that's what the pins will be just in a xat design . On doing my research into many different forums they have this system and their members and content of forums has improved dramatically

I have read the thread actually so dont tell me what i didnt read. and as for that. There are forums out there that have hundred of thousands of member with a simple design and no mods added to it ;]

i feel this is a very good idea and should be done on our forums.. people would help more here and good and the majority shows this

and its not makeing it prettty its showing them they are rewarded more

if you dislike this idea at least concinder about adding the thanks thumbs up feature

This is xat forums they paid for the vbulletin license.

Thanks for your opinion dario, but i honestly believe we can add a auto welcome new members feature, possibly a shoutbox on the front forum to allow members communicate faster and easier.
