Spider-Man 4 may be months away from principal photography, but that hasn't stopped Sony from making preparations for parts four and five, with the company signing up a writer for the franchise sequels.
Zodiac scribe James Venderbilt, who initially penned Spidey 4 (before David Lindsay-Abaire and then Gary Ross were brought into re-write) has been charged with the task of creating two further adventures for the webslinger, with the plan to have interconnected storylines.
According to Variety, the project may have to be a reboot, as their sources report that neither director Sam Raimi nor stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are locked in for further installments. Which begs the question, will audiences want to see a Spider-Man movie without the participation of the main players?
