Ok,I do not know if this has already been suggested by me,or someone else,so my apologies if it has....but anyway,I have another idea, which would be to implement timestamps. Why timestamps you ask? For the simple reason that more often than not some chatters aren't on Xat for long periods of time, therefore they miss when their friend/s come on Xat and visit their chats and leave them them messages when a person is not on Xat,and then when that person comes back online, they see their friend/s' message, but they have no clue how old or new it is. So therefore,I think timestamps would help chatters see how old/new messages left by their friends are when they come back from being offline. :)

P.S. Mods please delete my last post that is similiar to this one,I meant to make my last post like this one a poll, but accidently posted it before I could do so.

A feature like this was suggested before, whereas the person could see how long he or she has been in the chat, and see how long others been on the chat as well. The person just click on anyone's name, and next to the "Not add as friend" message it will tell how long the person been on the chat. When you said people should be able to see how old a message on a chat is, that could be an add-on power to Timestamp.

I don't think it should a power,I think for something as simple as a timestamp,it should just be something everyone could use. And the way I think it should work is,like how timestamps on IM services work...when a user posts,a timestamp automatically appears next to their name :)

or like Reggie said, when you click a person's name,it shows the timestamp and how long a person has been in your chat before they left

Or rather,it can be made so that when you click a person's name, along with the usual buttons, there can be a timestamp on/off button

more votes,please. :)
