Can't even get on Xat.com!?

I cannot seem to get on any of the chat boxes let alone the "xat.com" web address.

I get the "Connection Problem. You could try to start the chat again, Sorry. (T)" for the chat box at http://www.ascendedmugen.com/index.php?action=forum

and a simple "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.xat.com."

I am running Windows XP with SP2 and the latest edition of Mozilla Firefox. This started happening about 2 days ago.

1) Why would that be? Other then ascended's chatbox, I've never even visited Xat.com. Only think I can think of is I got messages from random people and asked them to leave me alone because I did not know who they were and one of them said "I can ban you, you know"

2) I can visit any other site except Xat.com

3) I'll see what AVG free and spybot pickup

4) I have DSL, and xat.com works on the other computers behind my router. I can connect to "http://web.xat.com/" however.

5) As in computer hardware? I'm not running the greatest system ever, but I don't think it's that. But, I'll post what I have:
Pentium 4 1.80 GHz
768 Mb of ram
Nvidia FX5200 LE

It seems that I either got banned for some unknown reason or I have a virus/malware. Is there anyway I can check as to if I've been banned or not? The admins/mods of the ascended chatbox said that they did not ban me.

Sidenote: My ip address changed on forum because I had to use proxy to post. I can't even see images such as smilies or buttons.

like update your flash and adobe players and yeah it sometimes dosent work if u have bad internet connection like on my other comp which the internet speed is at 0.1 kbz a sec O_o

Spybot S&D is likely to be the cause of your problem. xat.com was mistakenly added to their database of "bad" sites. We have this information from them:

"adding your site to our immunisationdatabase was a mistake. This will be corrected with the next update scheduled for wednesday this week (Oct 07). Users may need to unimmunize before the update and then immunize if needed."

So i suggest downloading the latest version of spybot and if necessary unimmunizing and re-immunize again as they suggest.

If this doesn't work you may need to go to Internet Explorer and remove all of the xat.com and xatech.com entries added by spybot to the restricted sites list in Internet Explorer. (click Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Restricted Sites -> Sites).

I am a memer of the same forum as Lost. I have the same problem, though he solved his when he got a new comp. I hadspybot a couple of months ago but I uninstalled it and I have done the steps listed above but I still cannot access xat.com nor any of its chatboxes. I get this error message: Connection Problem. You could try to start the chat again, Sorry. (T)
For some reason, I can see the chat and even the people on it and what they say but when I try to say something, it says connecting then gives me the error. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

presumably by proxy. You can't chat via a proxy.

I deleted xat.com and xatech.com from restricted sites. I even added them to Trusted Sites but it still doesn't work! :( Is there anything else I can do?

me either -- i have tried everything. i am using vista on the lappy and cannont connect, but on the desktop (XP) I have no problem

anyone else have a suggesstion?
